Statistical variables

The variable is the specific characteristic that we want to study about every individual. Example: age, height, colour of their car, the political party that they vote for…
There are different types:
Qualitative (or categorical) variable: if it isn’t a numerical one. Example: colour of eyes, political party,..
Quantitative variable: if it is a numerical one. There are two types:
        •Discrete quantitative variable: If it takes isolated values. Example: number of children.
        •Continuous quantitative variable: if it takes any value between two specified values. Example: height.
